Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Had this 2015 Dodge DART for 1 week. The airbag light came on and would not go off. I took it to a Dodge dealership and they quoted me 546.74 for a car that I bought a week ago, for a manufacturing issue that was obviously not caused by me. The light came on when the car was stationary after sitting for a day. This is clearly a safety risk for myself and the car.”

NHTSA complaint #11377746, filed 2020-12, 44,125 miles

“Again the same problem , battery light still on . I installed a new battery and alternator .but still doing the same. Thing. Called Dodge and they don't know what the problem is. And want to charge me $169.00 dollars for a diagnosis. No warranty. So runs till the battery is drained. And I'm stranded. Help please.”

NHTSA complaint #11316871, filed 2020-03, 77,300 miles

“There seems to be issue with Dodge, chrysler vehicles where car shuts off while driving. This has happened with my dad chrysler 300, my mom Dodge durango and now my Dodge DART and it appears it is the alternator killing the battery. It is dangerous to put my car on the road as it can shut off any given time and no one can seem to figure out the issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11091291, filed 2018-05, 77,000 miles

“Car is stalling and cutting off while driving. Got an oil change. Car doesn't react to pushing on accelerator. Rpm rev after hesitating with foot on the gas. Car is shaking and running really hard. I believe its the transmission control module, which is common in Dodge darts. Its been recalled, but not on my model. Stalled in the middle of an intersection. Had to restart car 3 times.”

NHTSA complaint #11174949, filed 2019-02, 122,001 miles

“I've replaced my battery twice since purchase in may. Something is draining the battery and I've even experienced driving on the highway and all my dash lights start blinking until the car cuts off and I have to restart it to get to my destination; and then take it the auto parts store to have them recharge it.”
