“Just noticed that the yokohama 225/40 r18 avid s34 tires on my 2015 Dodge DART have split side walls. I bought the car new. It has approximately 18,000 miles. I had the car in three times for the tires loosing air. I've read that yokohama have been having problems on this model tire for years with many different sizes but have only recalled one size. I'm taking the car to the dealer 05-02.”

While the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed that the front driver side tire sidewall had bulged out. The contact notified the manufacturer. The tire was not repaired. The approximate tire and vehicle failure mileage was 28,540.”

While driving approximately 55 MPH, the rear passenger side tire blew out and shredded into pieces. Also, the front driver's side tire lost air pressure. The vehicle crashed into a guard rail. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that the passenger sustained injuries that required medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The dealer was not called. The vehicle manufacturer was not contacted. …”
