“I am making a complaint about the 2002 Dodge durangos. The oil pressure keeps going low and now the engine has blown. It was not time for an oil change and we keep our oil changed as we are suppose to. This would be the second engine we would have put in this vehicle but the first time it was still covered under the manufactures warranty and was paid for by them but now the warranty has expired.”
NHTSA complaint #10299513, filed 2010-01, 125,000 miles“1-electrical system on overhead digital compass system became very hot. This electrical component system did not work for a period of a few days. It has intermittently worked now. 2-when you turn the steering wheel there is a horrible noise coming from one of the rear wheels. It makes a woo-woo sound every time the vehicle is turned, primarily turning right. A honest mechanic, who is a friend, told me that Dodge (chrysler) was infamous for this type of wheel problem. 3-the transmission seems to have a hard time shifting, which involves the above wheel problem. …”

NHTSA complaint #10070603, filed 2004-01, 24 miles“Two months ago, a new frame was installed on my 2002 Dodge Durango. On sept. 14, 2003 my daughter was in an accident on interstate 26 coming to my home. She said the car went out of control and she hit the concrete wall and ended up in the side of interstate. The driver side of the axle looks like it broke. The tire has not been found yet which has the studs, hub etc.”
NHTSA complaint #10039034, filed 2003-09“I have had to have the vacuum hoses replaced in my 2002 Dodge Durango 4 times since buying it in july of 2003. The check engine light comes on every time. I have complained to the dealership that has worked on it, but they don't seem to care. I had one of the mechanics say they have seen the problem before when I had him show me where the hoses were located. The hoses were cracked and looked like they had been on the car for 10 years or more, but in actuallity it had only been months. Everytime, I have had to pay $75 to have the hose replaced even though I had the extended warranty. …”
