Example complaints

Exterior lighting: “My drivers side led headlight has only lasted 2 years. One bulb goes out and the whole assembly needs to be replaced. These led lights are supposed to last 5-10 years. I have both headlights with a single light out. Passenger side turn signal and drivers side running day time lights. The headlights mopar makes are not in par with the cost of 1,200 to replace the entire assembly for just one headlight”

NHTSA complaint #11762445, filed 2026-09

Transmission and drivetrain: “This is about our 8th, of a fleet of 14 Police Durangos, all 2021-2024 to have the oil filter housings have failed, causing engine oil and coolant to mix, making the car inoperable. This has been brought to the attention of Dodge, and they have told me it is a very common problem, yet we have no recalls yet and this is on agencies, and i assume personal vehicle owners too to repair. We just had another car, ill write up next, that had the same failure, causing engine to blow while headed to a priority call. …”

NHTSA complaint #11680576, filed 2025-08

Electrical system: “I have a 2023 Dodge Durango GT. I have noticed that every so often I get an error message that pops up on my radio that says “UConnect box need service contact an authorized dealer”. I’ve taken it in and had the radio flashed and it keeps coming back. Everytime it comes on is disables my SOS and makes it non functional as well as it disables my other SiriusXM Guardian features. I find this to be an extreme safety concern as it disables the SOS feature to contact emergency services incase of an accident. Seems to be an ongoing issue with Durango models.”

NHTSA complaint #11735630, filed 2026-05

Engine: “The contact owns a 2023 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that upon startup and while driving, the check engine and airbag warning lights illuminated. Additionally, the gear shifter became stuck when shifting into drive(D). The rearview camera flickered, displayed incorrect images, and the display screen intermittently froze or turned blue. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer on ten occasions, and an unknown diagnosis was provided. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.”
