Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“My drivers side led headlight has only lasted 2 years. One bulb goes out and the whole assembly needs to be replaced. These led lights are supposed to last 5-10 years. I have both headlights with a single light out. Passenger side turn signal and drivers side running day time lights. The headlights mopar makes are not in par with the cost of 1,200 to replace the entire assembly for just one headlight”

NHTSA complaint #11762445, filed 2026-09

“The driver-side daytime running light (DRL) on my 2023 Dodge Durango has stopped functioning. The failure occurred under normal vehicle use and was not caused by an accident, impact, or external damage. I am reporting this as a safety concern because the daytime running lights are intended to increase vehicle visibility to other motorists and pedestrians. With only one DRL functioning, the vehicle has reduced and uneven forward visibility to others during daytime driving. …”

NHTSA complaint #11769062, filed 2026-10

“Front right turn signal went out after three years and I’m told I need to replace the entire light which is $1400 by itself. These led lights are supposed to last a long time.”

NHTSA complaint #11729656, filed 2026-04

“I am submitting this complaint regarding recurring safety-related defects on my 2023 Dodge Durango RT. 1.Uconnect Failure: The Uconnect infotainment/communication box has repeatedly failed, causing loss of access to critical vehicle functions. These failures affect visibility of system warnings, navigation, and driver settings, creating distraction and limiting awareness. 2.Driver-Side Daytime Running Light (DRL) Failure: At just 40,000 miles, the driver-side DRL failed. This significantly reduces vehicle visibility to other drivers during the day, creating a safety hazard. …”

NHTSA complaint #11681025, filed 2025-08

“Drivers DRL failed within 3 yrs. This is LED and supposed to last 10-15 yrs. Extended bumper to bumper warranty won’t cover. It’s nearly 2k to fix. Risk is less visibility during daytime to other drivers. Is this led bulb, electrical, fuse, ballast? No one seems to know. 2 dealerships say have to replace entire headlight system for nearly 2k!!!”
