“A few days after I bought the car the engine light came on, and I took it back to the dealer. He said it was the fuel cap making the engine light come on, he put a new one on, and said that should solve it. The engine light came back on, and a month later, the car wouldn't start. I had it towed to a shop, and they said it needed a new fuel pump. I called the dealer, and he said it was nothing he could do because the warranty was only for a month. I just started driving it again, the car would take a minute before it picked up speed, like it was stalling. …”

The dealership told the consumer that they could replace the fuel control valve, the filler tube, and the leak detection pump filter at consumer's expense. …”
NHTSA complaint #10127638, filed 2005-09, 47,600 miles“While in route to work, I started smelling gas from air vents. I made it to work & when I went on lunch break my co-workers said that they smelt gas around my car. I left work that morning when to a reputable mechanic to find out why I was smelling gas & rapidly started losing gas mileage. He informed me that my car(Dodge Intrepid 2001) have had problems with the fuel rail & that I should look into contacting &/or looking up vehicle recalls on my car. Contacted Dodge/daimler chrysler & had absolutely no response as of yet.”
