“I was driving down the road and I started smelling gas. The fuel rail on top of the engine started leaking by the passenger side front injector. There was a recall issued for this vehicle for the same issue that was supposed to correct it and the recall work was done according to the manufacturer. Years later it started leaking again. Apparently the recall kit does not fix the issue, eventually the fuel rail on top of the engine will eventually start leaking again which may result in an engine fire if not fixed. …”
NHTSA complaint #11403689, filed 2021-03, 142,483 miles“I own a 1994 Dodge Intrepid es that has had a series of fuel leaks at the fuel rail/ injector area. The o-rings were replaced twice in prior years. Last week 4 injectors and their seals were replace (at my expense) and once again tonight there is a strong smell of raw gasoline. This is a serious fire potential problem and seems relate to the switch to different gasoline formulations required here for summer driving. The car is again going back to the dealership for repairs.”
