“Headlights are adjusted within specifications but are not bright enough to to be able to see clearly with or without the brights on. I can drive with the brights on all the time and not have a single person flash theirs at me. This is very dangerous when driving where there are no street lights.”
NHTSA complaint #10050680, filed 2003-12“These headlights are the worst, my old 1969 buick had a better beam pattern. The housing is made of plastic and cracks very easly that can knock the allignment out.. I must use the fog lights at night to see properly. Accidents will happen. It's just a matter of time.”
NHTSA complaint #757136, filed 2002-01“Both connecting bolts that connects the inner tie rods to the steering gear broke as I was turning in a driveway. I had just drove 50 miles on interstate 85 from smiths, al to tuskeeggee al. When I arrived at my destination as I turned from the ashfault highway on to the concrete drive way I heard a thump! That was when the bolts sheared into. My estimate speed was around 2 m.p.h. Also the headlights on the Intrepid are too dim for night driving. …”
NHTSA complaint #738445, filed 2000-12“The plastic cover on the outiside covering the headlight, is cloudy on the outside. The consumer cannot see at all. The dealership is aware of the problem. Technical service bulletin was issued regarding the headlamp pattern problem. Another technical service bulletin was issued revising the first to include both of the headlamps. Dodge refused to replace consumers.”
NHTSA complaint #8013297, filed 2002-07“Both front headlamp lenses assemblies are severely, internally corroded. Light output is tremendously diminished and therefore is a major safety concern. Dealer refused to remedy the situation, and instead offered to sell new headlamp assemblies. ****dims 11 ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut-over to artemis****769305.”
