“Either sitting or driving, the cars lights come on and it loses power and stops. Sometimes when I try to start it, it won't start and I just got a new battery! There are several people having this problem. I just got my Journey 2 months ago, it was used, and I never could have imagined the problem I having with it! This is my only transportation, and I need it for work! Someone said it is the tipm, others have said it's the battery, etc... This happens either while I'm driving or sitting idle!”

Another issue that just started while driving the car or prearranged much just being on is the rear wiper comes on by itself and stays runnin till it wants to stop and when it dose turn itself off the wiper blade stays in the middle position instead of going down all the way.”

“Brakes started to squeak and grind. The front was replaced after 3 visits to the dealership. The truck is delayed when accelerating and slips when accelerating in drive. This issue has not been fixed for the propulsion. This happens in motion on city streets and highway. The lights flicker when in park.”

NHTSA complaint #10993556, filed 2017-06, 1,000 miles

“I bought the car in 2019 . Since purchasing it has had electrical issues. The AC blew hot air, the rear windows did not work, the center console usb plug caught fire, the lights on dash flicker. Dome light comes on by itself. Now the head lights flicker and go out. I have had it checked , and on computers nothing comes up.I cannot even use cruise control because it speeds up on its own to high speeds. I contacted the dealership, I was told I was making it up, I took it in and was told they could not find anything. I have taken video, and even have numerous witnesses to this. …”

NHTSA complaint #11700144, filed 2025-11

“5-10-18 had to bring my vehicle in for a new tire and prior to the tire, the ABS light would intermittently pop on and off. This would happen mostly after I started the vehicle and after backing up and traveling a few feet, it would sound and feel like it would catch and grind, then release after traveling about a mile, it would go off. When I brought it in to get the tire replaced, I asked them to look at it, they said the ABS light was coming on because the battery was faulty and they replaced the battery. …”
