“My 2013 Dodge Journey has a random no start. It will just click. The battery, alternator, and starter are all good. I usually have to jump it to get it to start. Sometimes that doesn't even work. It will make the lights start to go haywire. They will flicker or flash on and off. It will say no key detected when I'm literally sitting with my key fob in hand. It is a push button start. I have got the batteries replaced in the key fob as well. This will happen at random. …”

“Our air bag light has been on for the last 4 months. When we took it to the service department they stated nothing was wrong with the air bags. When the light came back on we took it again to the service department where they said there was a problem with our harness. We have also taken our car in for the AC not working and they have changed the module 3 times already and the problem is still there.”

NHTSA complaint #10641234, filed 2014-10, 14,000 miles

“We have owned our Journey for three years. Starting last year we have had a significant electrical issue that no one can fix. In order to unlock our doors, one has to press unlock an upward of 5 times. This has become an everyday occurrence and poses a threat to safety if we ever get in an accident. During these events the vehicle is stationary. We have noticed that the clock in the Journey will either gain time or loose it, without us even touching it over the course of a week or more at a time, we've given up on setting it at all. Again, the vehicle is stationary. …”

“I believe our Dodge Journey is either a 2013 or 2014. I looked & I could not find a recall for the red rear brake light cover. The edges of the rear light cover are not covered with a foam liner or plastic liner. My husband, my child & I have cut the inside palms of our hands on the light cover. The light cover is dangerous & we try to be careful not to cut ourselves. We warn our children to stay away from the lights. Please look into this problem so no one else gets hurt. Thank you for your time.”

NHTSA complaint #10617934, filed 2014-07

“The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Journey. While driving approximately 70 MPH, the projection of the high beam headlights was so weak that the contact could not read the exit signs. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (van horne chrysler Dodge jeep ram in manitowoc, wi) where the headlights were calibrated. The failure was first noticed when the vehicle was purchased as if the headlights were directed towards the ground. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000. …”
