“I was driving down the highway going about 48 miles per hour with my baby in the car and I tried to slow the vehicle down for a yellow light my breaks would not stop it took a hard stomp to come to a complete stop. Also my car will not shift gears it jerks when done and takes off very slowly hardly picking up speed. It also makes a knocking sound and vibration when you drive and after you turn the ignition off”

NHTSA complaint #10810128, filed 2015-12, 63,254 miles

“Brakes aren't catching at times almost have several accidents on the highway and city streets when I step on brakes I have to keep pumping them to stop .. Then when I try start car it says key aren't located even while driving”

NHTSA complaint #11141659, filed 2018-10, 16,390 miles

“The brake pedal goes extremely soft after the anti-lock brake system engages or after braking when driving over a bump/pothole. It can still brake, but I have to press the pedal to the floor, and the car slows down rather than stopping. It will stay soft a while (15-20 min), but I found that if I pump them hard a few times (like while at a red light) it then returns to normal. This has happened many times, mostly recently 2/28/2019. I'm afraid this will happen and result in me having an accident or rear-ending someone.”

NHTSA complaint #11183376, filed 2019-03, 101,500 miles

“Driving down a state road and my brakes became spongy. In order to stop I would have to slow down and push my brakes pedal to the floor. The first time it happened I pulled over and shut my car off too call someone. As soon as I started my vehicle again the brakes were fine. Today I decided to pull over again and turn the car off. When I turned it back on I pumped the brakes a few times and it was back to normal. This has happened to me three times so far. I have a newborn and cannot risk brake problems. …”

NHTSA complaint #11006659, filed 2017-07, 103,000 miles

“I was driving my car through town(35mph) when it just shut off. I didn't have power steering or brakes. No alert lights come on. I managed to pull into a gas station, put it in park then it restarted after I pushed the button. I did chat with chrysler and they said no recalls or issues showed up for my car. After googling my experience, I found numerous other complaints from people having the same problem. If I had been going faster on the highway or even on our curvy backroads I could have been seriously injured or even killed! …”
