Example complaints

Transmission and drivetrain: “The planetary gears in our transmission have failed. I discovered that there was a Ford recall specifically for vans that were manufactured in ohio plant during 2011 and 2012 because of defects in the planetary gears which cause hazardous conditions. Our VIN number is not included in the case, but it clearly should have been. We are seeking help to get Ford to extend the recall to include our van.”

NHTSA complaint #11024577, filed 2017-09, 102,000 miles

Engine: “While making a 40mph turn at night the engine died. Lost steering and brake boost. Almost lost the vehicle before completing a stop. Tried for five minutes to restart. Diagnosed as a bad fuel pump and replaced. Situation re-occured and the vehicle remains at the Ford dealer.”

NHTSA complaint #10716624, filed 2015-05, 97,500 miles

Brakes: “The contact owns a 2012 Ford e350. The contact stated that the brake pedal and accelerator pedal were too close together. As a result, the contact was constantly depressing both pedals at the same time and almost causing a crash. The manufacturer was not made aware of the defect. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 6,070. ..updated 10/21/14 updated 4/7/15”

NHTSA complaint #10597335, filed 2014-06, 6,070 miles

Fuel system: “Rented budget truck in alabama on 8/30. Drove from alabama to iowa. Rented an auto transport in addition to the Ford E-350 (2012). The E-350 was the only one available and I needed to take it because I had no other option but to move on that date. The E-350 had the following dangerous issues: 1) nearly bald front left tire. 2) windshield wipers did not reliably clear rain from windshield (blurred vision) 3) had to manually pump fuel every 1/2 gallon. The fuel pump would cut off every 1/2 gallon even though the truck was half full of fuel. This happened at two different gas stations. …”
