NHTSA complaint #10300398, filed 2010-01, 40,000 miles

Fuel system: “Employees were driving truck on a level road, and it rapidly lost power. They stopped and called me, and I told them to check a number of things. Everything looked ok. Brought the vehicle to Ford dealer, and was informed that the fuel tank was rusted/rusting on the inside. They advised me that the tank, sending unit, and fuel pump needed to be replaced, before they could see if the injectors, fuel lines, and turbo were damaged. I checked on the internet before authorizing the repairs, and was astounded by the amount of people that had the same exact issues. …”

NHTSA complaint #10609885, filed 2014-07, 66,000 miles

Transmission and drivetrain: “2007 Ford e450 van, driver lifted shift lever towards park. The driver thought the lever was in park and exited the vehicle. The lever dropped to reverse and the vehicle ran the over driver. The vehicle has a brake interlock, if the shift lever is pushed hard enough, it will shift into park. If the shift lever is pushed, but not hard enough, the shift indicator hangs up between park and reverse. (the vehicle is owned by u-haul)”
