“Blew out 3 spark plugs already. Now I need to get the engine fixed and spend 50% of the trucks value, because Ford rolled out a faulty design and wont own up. I've never heard of this blow out until I purchased a Ford, and I've owned soo many other cars that never experienced this. This needs to be recalled by Ford!”

NHTSA complaint #10262782, filed 2009-03, 114,000 miles“For the 2nd time I have had a spark plug blow out of the engine. This time the gas caught fire. I managed to beat it out with my jacket, unhook the fuel injector, and drive the vehicle the rest of the way home. Fortunately the fire started just as I opened the hood and I got it out before any damage could occur.”
NHTSA complaint #10365046, filed 2010-11, 154,000 miles“My 1999 Ford Expedition blew a sparkplug. The cost to fix is ridiculous compared to the worth of my SUV now. I checked online and this apparently happens all the time to this engine yet there has been no recall. What is up with this? This is dangerous and costly. If brakes for japanese carmakers are recalled why not plug problems which can create engine fires and strand people far from home? Please help?”
