“Electronic throttle control help, I have a 2005 Expedition,. The thing has just started shutting down on me while driving. For no apparent reason, while driving along, it stops running, and after shutting it off, placing it in park, it will start back up. It was so scary , thanks god I didn't had any accident ,this is a big issue from Ford”

NHTSA complaint #10592264, filed 2014-05, 85,000 miles

“Fuel pump driver module failed due to design flaw which caused galvanic corrosion. Aluminum body of component acts as the sacrificial anode for the frame which is steel. This caused my vehicle to stall at 65mph and lose power and thus caused the loss of power steering and hydraulic brake booster while traveling a high rate of speed. This could be especially dangerous on highways, congested areas, or areas with pedestrians such as schools. I have also notified Ford of this problem.”

NHTSA complaint #11010674, filed 2017-07, 218,000 miles

“While I was driving done the interstate, my Ford Expedition lost all power and completely stalled. Luckily, I was able to get it off the road to the shoulder without any incident. This is the third time it has happened to me. Previously, I had my fuel pump sensor changed because my check engine light came on and that is what it indicated; however, the problem still exits and my mechanics are baffled. Very dangerous!”

NHTSA complaint #10496131, filed 2013-02, 155,000 miles

“I was driving 60mph down the highway and the dash lit up with check electronic fuel control. I was able to get the vehicle to the side of the road as the engine turned itself off, no power steering, and limited braking ability. After a few minutes it restarted and I was able to limp it back home and I plan on taking into the local Ford dealership in the morning.”

NHTSA complaint #10248657, filed 2008-11, 78,700 miles

“It takes 20 minutes to fill up my gas tank. Ford put some time of restriction or rerouted the fumes at the gas cap. I have to actually hold the nozzle back and inch from the opening and shoot the gas at the tank. This is a very dangerous situation and I am sure much more dangerous than the original problem the engineers were trying to correct (due to a lawsuit). …”
