“The mechanic at merchant tire kingdom noted that at least 15 of my lug nuts needed to replaced because they were beginning to crack, which could lead to the tire becoming dislodged from the rim. I replaced all 24 lug nuts to be safe. This is an usually incident given that my previous Expedition I had for 15 years never needed a single lug nut.”
NHTSA complaint #10630022, filed 2014-09, 120,000 miles“Own a 2008 king ranch Ford Expedition el, complained from the beginning that windows were slow to open and close. The windows would freeze shut. They eventually changed the window tracks, but didn't seem to help. Now the windows get stuck in the down or half up position, especially when the temp is cold. I pushed to have them change the window motor, but would not. Now that it is out of warranty. They want to replace the window motors!!!! I see this as a huge safety issue. If I would need to roll down my windows to escape in the winter...I would be unable to do so. …”
NHTSA complaint #10379861, filed 2011-02, 2,000 miles“While driving across the arizona desert in 104 degree temperatures, my air conditioner stopped working entirely. It would not blow any air. This created extremely hazardous temperatures inside the vehicle. Rolling the windows down was useless. It was 104 degrees outside. After allowing the vehicle to cool down, the A/C started working again.”
NHTSA complaint #10231203, filed 2008-06, 10,600 miles“A/c leaking water. A/c evaporator coil housing box to condensate and leak water on and under the passenger side floorboard carpet. Also around the condensate drain that exits the passenger compartment it a black foam rubber gasket that soaks up water like a sponge. This gasket butts-up against the firewall and is what's leaking most of the water under the carpet.”
