“New vehicle purchase on 9/10/20, owner noticed headlight beams were possibly misaligned approximately 9/22/20 in a well lit city. Misalignment was confirmed when traveling from a town with less lighting on 9/26/20. Driver noticed misalignment causes delayed reaction time as hills, curves, and road signs were not visible. Contacted dealership to report issue on 9/28/20. Dealership scheduled appointment to remedy issue for 10/15/20.”
NHTSA complaint #11361658, filed 2020-09, 900 miles“My 3rd / Center brake light assembly had to be replaced as it was not working. The issue was caused by condensation. I paid to have it replaced but feel this should be a warranty item. Root cause should be improper seal around light assembly. This would not be normal user “wear and tear”. It is improper design/mfg process. Since it is the high brake light this is a serious safety concern. Thank you”
NHTSA complaint #11761907, filed 2026-09“Daytime Running Light has failed on passenger headlight. This condition makes the vehicle less visible to others. The only remedy for this issue is to replace the entire headlight which approaches $2000 for a single headlight.”
NHTSA complaint #11725953, filed 2026-03“There is a very common problem with the passenger side headlight daytime running lights on the 2018-2023 Ford Expedition. The daytime running lights go dim, completely fail, or turn purple, as has happened on my 2020 Ford Expedition Platinum. This has created a safety issue due to the DRLs no longer functioning as intended. There is no fix for the consumer aside from replacing the entire headlight assembly, removing the entire front fascia in the process, at a cost of $1500 or more per light assembly for parts and labor. …”
