Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Factory oem headlights including hi-beams, low-beams, drls and fog lights are outdated and totally inferior to current LED/hid headlights. Visibility is not up to par whatsoever. Definite safety hazard. Very disappointed. This car should have standard LED daylight running strips, high-beams, low beams, and fog lights. Ford should update this on all 2018 and newer expeditions”

NHTSA complaint #11180648, filed 2019-02, 11 miles

“The passenger side daytime running light has burned out. Daytime running lights are a safety feature for myself and other drivers. The problem happens 100% of the time. The dealership has inspected the issue and suggest replacing the entire headlight assembly. It happened January 2025 and No warning lights came on. It was brought to my attention by another driver in traffic”

NHTSA complaint #11652955, filed 2025-04

“LED daytime running lights have failed and turned blue on one side. This issue appears to affect many vehicles of the same make and model. DRLs are a piece of safety equipment that makes the vehicle more visible to others, and as such, should be in proper working order.”

NHTSA complaint #11694574, filed 2025-10

“The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that upon inspection, it was discovered that the front driver's side and passenger’s side headlight assemblies had experienced cracks and chips causing moisture to enter the headlight assemblies. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was concerned that the moisture inside the headlight assemblies would cause the front headlights to eventually fail. The failure mileage was 70,354.”

NHTSA complaint #11575306, filed 2024-03, 70,354 miles

“The passenger side headlight DRL is fading and does not appear to be as bright and pronounced as the driver side DRL. This vehicle has the LED headlights and fog lights.”

NHTSA complaint #11707752, filed 2025-12
