“Accelerator pedal on 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck gets stuck on the floor. Appears to be getting hung up on rubber floor mats. This has occurred 2 times in my truck and others at my company have also experienced the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10304145, filed 2010-02, 15,000 miles

“I was on the interstate 30 east bound just east of downtown fort worth traveling at 55 MPH in my 2009 f 150. I began accelerating to overtake a slower vehicle. The throttle stuck at what seem to be a wide open position, I had passed the car and let off the gas and pressed the brake 3 times before for the truck stopped accelerating and I had reached a speed of 95 MPH before I was able to get the truck back under control. It seemed like the throttle was stuck for around 10 seconds, which was a very scary 10 seconds. …”

NHTSA complaint #10418114, filed 2011-08, 33,527 miles

“On now 4 occasions, I have had an accelerator stuck in wide open condition. On 3 of them, it involved passing at highway speeds, and on the latest (10/22/16), it happened on a hard acceleration in city conditions while accelerating from slow to faster speed. In each event, pressing on the brake did hold back speed, but full acceleration resumed if brake was released at all. Very lucky to have avoided accident / death!”

The system was enabled when the vehicle was turned on but when it was turned off, the system disabled and could potentially cause a crash according to the owners manual. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where the contact was informed that there was no fix for the problem. The failure continued to occur. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000. …”
