Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“It happened several times already. My F150 Tremor randomly has extremely loud electrical sound POP through the speakers followed by the loud static, no matter I listen to radio or connect to android studio. It's super dangerous to hear this while driving.”

NHTSA complaint #11611306, filed 2024-08

“I was in the process of turning onto a two lane road when all of a sudden I heard an incredibly loud noise, much like speakers blowing out that seemed to be progressively getting louder. I remained calm. I tried to turn down volume on the speakers and it would not stop the loud sound. I put the truck in park and turned off the truck. That did not work so I turned it on and off again and the noise stopped. The volume was not working at all after this happened. I was completely confused because I didn't understand what happened or why. …”

NHTSA complaint #11591012, filed 2024-05

“The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150 equipped with an OEM jack. The contact stated that while her husband was replacing the passenger's side rear tire and using the jack for the first time, the jack bent, causing the vehicle to collapse onto the rotors. There was no injury sustained. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was inspected, and the dealer informed the contact that there was no damage to the vehicle. The jack was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 12,630.”

NHTSA complaint #11617521, filed 2024-10, 12,630 miles
