“I have a 2011 Ford f350 that came with michelin ltx a/t2 - lt275/65r 20 tires. It has just over 28,000 miles, has only been serviced by a Ford dealer, with each service report indicating no problems with respect to tire issues. Traveling on the freeway I experienced a shaking in the front end like a wheel had thrown a weight. Pulling off the road I discovered a tread separation bubble approximately 12-13 long on the outer portion of a front tire. After changing to the spare we continued that day's driving. …”

NHTSA complaint #10585393, filed 2014-04, 28,278 miles

“Catastrophic tread separation (tire did not deflate) of left rear tire on pickup. Nearly lost control, but maintained control and got to side of road. Estimated $8,500 damages to truck. No injuries and no other vehicles involved. No road hazard hit. Tires rotated as required. In for dealer service that morning and correct inflation verified.”

NHTSA complaint #10722876, filed 2015-06, 40,000 miles

“Note: granada tire brand(a les schwab bend oregon tire brand) was not in the drop down to select. Left rear tire blowout due to delamination with less than 2500 mille's on a new set of tires. Driving a 2011 f350 west bound 6 aug 2017 on canadian hwy 16, excellent road and weather, straight section while towing 40 ft fifth wheel. Had just checked for correct inflation. Blow out occurred on a straight clear level section while during the speed limit in cruise controll. Could have been fatal in other situations. Bought four new cooper tires to replace the granadas. …”

NHTSA complaint #11015210, filed 2017-08, 106,500 miles

“Driving on interstate highway at night. Noted vibration as when tires are not balanced. Exited interstate at first exit and checked all tires. Tire pressures good and equal. No knots or damage noted and all tires same temperature. Thought a balance weight had come off and tires needed to be rebalanced. Began driving on interstate with no change in vibration. About 15 minutes later there was an explosion and the truck violently veered to the right. Pulled back into my lane and then pulled over to right shoulder. Right front tire destroyed. Called aaa and highway patrol. …”

NHTSA complaint #10781274, filed 2015-10, 17,815 miles

“Chunks of the tread are coming off of the tire. This defect was noticed while having my truck serviced at the dealership. They instructed me to visit a tire store that sold michelin tires to get them relpaced. When I went to the tire store and they contacted michelin. I was told they would give me a 30% discount on new tires. This is not acceptable. I purchased my truck new and have approx 23k miles on these tires. This is not normal wear and tear there is a defect with these tires. …”
