“My front tire tread separated from the tire on my truck while doing 75 MPH. I also spoke with another guy that has his tires listed on craigslist that had the same problem. When my tire came off it damaged my fender, running board on the exterior have not had a chance to see what other damage was done. No one was hurt no other known damaged was caused to other vehicles.”
NHTSA complaint #10336758, filed 2010-06, 197,290 miles“I wias traveling on hwy. 27 outside of blakely ga on 09-17-15. My front drivers side tire tread belt separated. I lost control of the vehicle and narrowly avoided a severe accident. The tire was a pro-comp all terrain load range e 265/75/16.”

When we arrived at our destination we found that the right rear tire has a large bulge on the tread of the tire. We went on line to investigate these type of tires and found that cooper tire co. Had a recall on those similar type of tires however, we have the mt style tire and they had recalled the rt style due to steel cords busting in the tires. The recall is for the exact same tire except that ours are a mud terrain and the recall is for the radial tread tire.”

I mounted, balanced, and installed them on a customers f350 supercab work truck. On 9/25 I ordered 4 more of the same tires for the same customers other work truck. On 9/26 there was a rim and tire left at my front door that had a large bulge on the sidewall. It was one of the tires that I installed 2 days prior. I ordered a replacement. I installed brakes and the new tires on the second truck. …”
NHTSA complaint #10252263, filed 2008-12, 180,000 miles“I was traveling on the expressway with my 99 Ford f-350 pulling a 5th wheel trailer when the front driver's side tire blew out. As I wrestled the truck to the shoulder, the brakes completely failed. As far as I could tell, even the electronic brakes on the trailer weren't helping to stop me as I drifted to a stop on the shoulder. The tire tread when it shredded apparently blew out a vacuum hose and there may have been some other connector or line associated with the ABS system that was affected - but I think it was just the vacuum hose. …”
