Example complaints
Electrical system: “I started my truck normally when a very loud screeching/ pounding was coming from the speakers. My decibel meter was reading 128 dB. Super loud! The volume didn't matter, turning off the radio did nothing. I was on my way to the dealership and stopped half way because of the noises from the speakers. I have a recording but it does even come close to how loud it actually is. No way can I drive it like this.”
NHTSA complaint #11578342, filed 2024-03Forward collision avoidance: “Multiple electrical issues related to dashboard controls, video sensors, head unit. Controls powering down while driving, sensors throwing multiple error messages. All since 1,500 miles. Ford could not figure out what the issue was so they replaced the wiring harness. After 2 months in the shop I got my vehicle back. 2 weeks later I am getting the same error messages in the dash and has to go back into the shop for the same reason.”
NHTSA complaint #11647774, filed 2025-03Back-over prevention (rear camera): “I intermittently lose trailer brakes when towing my trailers on my 2023 Ford F350. I have two trailers and both trailers give me intermittent faults saying trailer disconnected' or trailer turn signal lights not working , but the trailer is connected and the lights are working - but the brakes do not. I know this is a truck issue because both trailers have no issues with my 2017 Toyota Tundra. I have independently tested this theory with both trucks and trailers multiple times but only have the issue on the Ford truck. …”
NHTSA complaint #11578249, filed 2024-03Body and structure: “Front doors will not close and latch when it is cold outside. Multiple dealerships have told me there is nothing that they can do to fix this issue. Doors will come open while driving if they don't latch. I often have to use a ratchet strap to keep doors shut from the inside while driving in cold weather. Apparently, according to Ford, I am a stupid girl that should just live with this issue and wait for my kids to fall out of my pickup.”
NHTSA complaint #11646448, filed 2025-03Mileage when problems were reported
78% of the 9 complaints with a mileage were filed for vehicles with under 50,000 miles; the middle half falls between 5,600 and 18,000 miles.
