“My truck fractured the frame on both main rails right behind the cab at the front of the cargo box. The fractures run full height of both beams and the only remaining attachment when I found the problem was the very bottom lip of the c-shape channel. When I would accelerate the truck it bent up in the middle of the frame - right over the front gas tank. At the time the truck was carrying a 9 1/2 ft. Truck camper with a lit and operating propane refrigerator. If the fram had seperatred while driving an explosion would have most likely followed. …”
NHTSA complaint #730716, filed 2000-09“While stepping into vehicle rear bumper it caved in, causing consumer's foot to get stuck, the consumer then fell and hit the concrete whil his foot was still lodged in the bumper, as a result the consumer sustained a left heel fracture in two places, a twisted back, neck and a hip injury. Dealer notified.”
