“Driver side rear passenger door opened while driving today. It can't close shut and can't lock. Had to secure moving straps to both rear seat armrests to keep door from opening. After the seat belt recall, transmission seal recall and this, what next? I commute over 100 miles daily I don't feel safe.”

NHTSA complaint #10633393, filed 2014-09, 98,000 miles

“The head restrain on the Ford Fiesta 2011 that I have is very inconvenient in order for me to drive the car I have to remove the head restrain so my head can be in a upright position. When I keep the head retrain in place I have to lean my head forward when on the driving seat. This is not a convenient way for me the driver. There has not been any accident related to the head restrain from me besides neck ace.”

NHTSA complaint #10402990, filed 2011-05, 7,000 miles

“The rear seat head restraints in the 2011 Ford Fiesta create sizable blind spots when the driver looks out the back window. I must take the head restraints out and store them in the hatch in order to have an obstructed view, and I must reinstall them when I have a passenger in the rear seat. Since Ford has fixed this problem in later model fiestas by installing folding head restraints, I urge Ford to recall the 2011 fiestas in order to do the same.”

NHTSA complaint #10470692, filed 2012-08, 37,100 miles

“Rear seat backs will not lock in the upright position. Therefore any heavy object in the trunk will become a projectile forcing the back seat down and the projectile into the back or head of a front seat driver or passenger in a sudden stop or front end collision.”

NHTSA complaint #10398355, filed 2011-04, 499 miles

“The new head restraint position on the cars make it impossible for my wife to drive the car comfortably. She has short arms and legs, which require the seat to be forward and upright. The headrest in this position is places her head tipped down toward her chest. Again, uncomfortable to drive. To get the seat where it needs to be to drive, and her looking straight out the windshield, the headrest needed to be removed and/or installed backwards. The backwards position is a safer option. A headrest without as much of a pitch forward is needed. …”
