“After a recall of door latches that were replaced I have had 3 other latches malfunction. Most recently my driver side door. I had talked to my dealership and they told me I am responsible for the repair now. They did repair one latch after the recall work was done under warranty. I currently cannot safely drive my vehicle!”
NHTSA complaint #11309515, filed 2020-02, 75,000 miles“While the vehicle was parked I attempted to close the right rear door and the door didn't latch/close. Took the car to the dealer (fajardo Ford, puerto rico) and I was informed that the VIN number was not included in the safety recall. Dealer didn't repair the door. I attempted contacting Ford customer service on two occasions but have not received any response from them.”
NHTSA complaint #11170525, filed 2019-01, 84,000 miles“This morning when I was going to drive to work, I found the front right door does not close. I tried to close it several times but failed. The door just didn't stay shut. This is not the first time this happened to me. About 8 months ago, the door at back right side had the same issue. It caused me $400 to fix that. Now another probably another $400....”
NHTSA complaint #10711990, filed 2015-04, 46,000 miles“My vehicle was in my driveway and I opened the rear passenger door to remove something from my backseat. When I shut the door, it popped back open and would not stay closed. After taking the car to a Ford dealership, I was told it was the door latch and since it had been recalled and replaced previously, it would be free. Today I took my car to have the repair done and was given an estimate of $233 + tax.”
NHTSA complaint #11111514, filed 2018-07, 72,000 miles“Leaving to come home from vacation when we went to put our dog in the passenger side rear door. Upon closing the door it just bounces right back. The door won't latch or lock. Had to drive all the way home with the seatbelt pulled through the door handle and the interior lights on the whole trip. After reading online, this issue should be recalled.”
