“The back doors would pop open often, now we have to keep the pass, side door in the back locked because if we use it wont stay closed.and now the pass, side door in the front wont unlock. We had it checked at a Ford dealership and they greased it.one thing that also happened was the paint was peeling when we first got it, they repainted the affected area.”
NHTSA complaint #10712940, filed 2015-04, 15,000 miles“My right rear door flew open while the vehicle was in motion as I was turning on to a city highway near my home. Luckily, I was close enough that I made it home safely, however the door wouldn't latch at all after this incident. When I called the dealership where I normally have my car serviced, they said there are many recalls for this type of problem with many Ford models, my model included, however my car did not qualify for the recall based on the VIN number and that it was one year older than the other models that qualified for the recall. …”
NHTSA complaint #10954117, filed 2017-02, 70,000 miles“The rear doors get stuck and wont open. Like they stay locked. They wont unlock with the remote or trying with the manual door lock pull. Ford said something about it being dirt or something causing this dealership tried cleaning the latches but this happens few times and now the doors have been stucked closed for 3 days. What would happen if get accident or something one the kids cannot get out the car.”
NHTSA complaint #10504188, filed 2013-03, 52,000 miles“Only 3 out of 4 doors open, the outside door latches have failed since purchase in 2013. Have also continually failed/re-broke after being fixed. Car also does not unlock after being locked and inside door mechanisms do not unlock after being engaged.. Huge safety issue. Also multiple times the a solenoid has to be replaced due to the car does not shift correctly and fails to accelerate safely (takes a over a min to go from 35-60) and even then it will not maintain 60 miles per hour going up a hill . …”
