“Rear driver's side door latch failed, causing door to pop open - the latch has a recall, but only through 2005 - same latch is used. The door will now not close at all. I had the same issue on my 2003 Focus. Car has less than 70000 miles on it. If there was ever a safety issue needing a recall, it is doors popping open on their own.”

NHTSA complaint #10807138, filed 2015-11, 69,000 miles

“Bought my 2007 Ford Focus and as soon as my warranty expired both rear doors are now locked shut and I can not get them open by unlocking them, the handles don't seem to be catching on anything and the latch seems to be stuck. Took it to a mechanic and he said he can't fix it without tearing the door off it would have to be taken to a dealership to have the work done. I'm am now about to have a son and cant use my car due to not having access to my back seat at all without having to pay to get it fixed.”

NHTSA complaint #11172376, filed 2019-01, 120,127 miles

“My air conditioner quit working to soon only about 4 years old at the time was told by mechanic that my compressor was out completly. I also have changed my low beam head light about 4 times why? Another problem I have is my rear end tires keep wearing out way faster than the front tires why? Also while I drive my car squeaks the noise comes from my dash and under my dash more so when I drive slower like around town also why?”

NHTSA complaint #10598241, filed 2014-06, 75,000 miles

“The driver side rear door (4 door sedan se model) will not lock. I can't lock it manually or electronically. The driver door will lock, but only with the key or when the lock in manually pushed. The driver side rear should never fail in a mode that can't be locked. This needs to be recalled. It is a safety issue. I can be carjacked, my belongs and car can be stolen. Children cannot sit in the back seat because the door will not lock.”

NHTSA complaint #10490277, filed 2012-12, 105,000 miles

“Was driving down the road at the posted speed limit of 35 MPH. Hit a patch of ice on the untreated icy roads in glocester ri . Caused me to increase speed while spinning in circles . Ended up hitting a tree with the front quarter panel on the passenger side destroyed everything on that side under the hood and the chasie in the front!! Next I spun again hitting the front bumper on the right side! Air bags never deployed and they should have at the speed and velocity the car hit the tree at!”
