“I discovered my drivers rear brake light bulb melted in their socket. The socket themselves are burnt black and the drivers side tail light case has been hot enough to melt. A quick search on the Internet turns up a lot more chatter about this same issue. Even scarier is the fact that this happening with zero warning. No blown fuse, no codes, nothing to indicate your frying stuff in the back at all. …”
NHTSA complaint #11526840, filed 2023-06“I took my Fusion in for the airbag recall. The airbag was replaced and now the dash is slightly raised up and looks like the airbag is going to blow out of it anytime. Now the airbag light in the instrument panel is turning on and off randomly. I took my car back to the dealership who replaced the airbag and they say this is a common issue and has nothing to do with what they did. So now I do not know if my car is safe or not to be driving.”
NHTSA complaint #11289888, filed 2019-12“The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. While driving various speeds, the brake light detached from the vehicle and the license plate light failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake light and license plate light failed and would need to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000.”
NHTSA complaint #10897666, filed 2016-08, 48,000 miles“The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost power. The check engine and the wrench warning indicators illuminated. In addition, the headlights failed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
