“I was in reverse traveling atbout 3-5 miles per hour. There was a loud hop and then the front passenger side dropped about 6 inche down .both fp/s ball joints hopped out. This could have been a very bad thing at 55/70 miles per hour! Ford repaired this under warranty but I qustion how many others and if the drivers side could come apart as well?”

NHTSA complaint #745302, filed 2001-05

“I took the car in to have the rear suspension knuckle replaced and my vehicle comes out with a faulty brake calliper. Something is wrong wtih the proceedure in fixing this knuckle or the technicians working on the vehicles are carless. I have read different messages on on blue oval message board about individuals have problems with their rear wheel brakes involving the caliper assembly and or rotor locking up.”

NHTSA complaint #747966, filed 2001-07

“Recall 00s33 having to do with steering gear retaining bolts. States this can cause misalignment. Brought in to have fixed. My tires on the front were bald on outside. Told by dealer this is caused by misalignment. Misalignment caused by recall. Dealer or Ford motor co., should pay for new tires and alignment which was caused by recall to begin with. I would like to know my rights and course of action as dealer is hedging about picking up cost.”

NHTSA complaint #737638, filed 2000-12

“While driving at 80 MPH making a left turn, vehicle kept going straight down the road. Consumer applied brakes, and the side of vehicle hit a ditch. Vehicle skidded across the road, and then vehicle hit a tree, and went back into the ditch. Driver's and passenger's side air bags didn't deploy.”

NHTSA complaint #836610, filed 1999-04

“Consumer was trying to make a left turn at about 10-15 MPH, and suddenly wheel would not turn. Vehicle accelerated and ran into some trash cans, and some other stuff on sidewalk. Contacted dealer, and dealer tried to fix problem but with no success.”
