“Throttle body failed as I was driving at speed on the freeway. When it failed, the vehicle immediately went into idle mode which made it very dangerous to avoid traffic as I attempted to move onto the shoulder of the freeway. The car moved at no more than 5mph! The repair is very expensive. I feel that this part should not fail after just 76,000 miles. Attached is the repair bill.”

NHTSA complaint #10928220, filed 2016-11, 76,000 miles

“I got in my car an started the engine. I then noticed my fuel gauge and speedometer were not working at all. I have always taken care of my Mustang an I think Ford should recall the cluster. There's been plenty of 2005 models with very same issue. Please recall the gauge cluster it's the right thing to do for a big name company like Ford.”

NHTSA complaint #10660219, filed 2014-11, 79,000 miles

“Driving on highway engine light came on then fuel gauge went to 0 and speedometer down to 10 miles per hour and gauge flickered back up to 35..almost causing an accident not knowing what was happening. Past 6 months when fueling my car gas pump keeps kicking off, not sure if it could cause a fire, takes 15 minutes to fuel up. I will never buy a Ford again.”

NHTSA complaint #10471346, filed 2012-08, 41,300 miles

“2005 Ford Mustang been to the service department 3 times for not being able to fill gas tank, spews out even at a trickle from the pump 4th time returned to dealer and said there was a repair but now my warranty has run out. They knew the repair was available long ago. Surely this qualifies as a defect in the system. When it happens my wife gets covered in gas shooting out the filler neck.”

NHTSA complaint #10392600, filed 2011-03, 35,000 miles

“My fuel gauge on vehicle has quit working and says I have no gas when I have just filled up, the speedometer also goes erratic and says I'm going 120 when actually going much slower, the cold hot gauge either reads hot, regardless of if I just started the car or if its been running for an hour.”

NHTSA complaint #10434941, filed 2011-11, 90,000 miles
