“On the evening of july 22nd the driver's side window made a sharp metal against glass sound as the window retracted into the door. When the glass moved back into its normal (up) position the glass had a deep scratch--large enough to feel with a nail. Dealership claims the issue is due to dirt or debris. Other forums on Ford mustangs suggest the problem is due to the hard plastic gasket on the inner seal of the window. Numerous posts/blogs describe the same issue of scratches forming for little known reasons. The dealership declined to cover my damage under warranty.”
NHTSA complaint #10235813, filed 2008-07, 6,000 miles“The contact owns a 2008 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the windshield wipers activated with the windshield wiper switch in the off position. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the windshield wiper motor and wiring harness were damaged due to corrosion cause by moisture and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, there was no assistance provided. A dealer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 25,000.”
