“Consumer complained about recall 98v32300 issued on december 15, 1998 concerning structure:frame and members defect. NHTSA complaint #10037954, filed 2003-09, 77,500 miles

“Front and rear motor mounts failed at approximately 50,000 miles. I originally thought that this was just another problem in a long line of problems with this car. Recently, however, I have not talked to a single person with a Taurus/sable equipped with a 3.8l engine that has not had to replace the motor mounts. Also, I recently discovered that Ford did have a motor mount recall on earlier years that were equipped with a 3.8l engine.”

NHTSA complaint #705168, filed 1999-04

“The contact owns a 1994 Ford Taurus. The vehicle was parked, and the contact observed while the air conditioner was activated water leaked onto the engine. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired at the time of the complaint. In addition, there was a tranmission defect. The failure mileage was 140,000.”

NHTSA complaint #10325096, filed 2010-04, 140,000 miles

Upon examination he noticed that the sub frame fractured from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to his residence and was not examined for the cause of failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 75,000.”
