“I have a complaint about the trunk hydraulic mechanism. I was hurt when the trunk was open I sat on the bumper to put my golf shoes on. At that time the hydraulic air pump that holds the trunk open failed and fell direct on by back. Forgetting this happened it also closed on my head cutting it. I believe this is very dangerous and needs to be recall before a finger is chopped off. Please let me know who I can respond to. Stationary”

NHTSA complaint #11120480, filed 2018-08, 68,000 miles

“At least three (3) times when I have been loading my trunk, iv had the trunk lid come down on me unexpectedly. I was in the staples parking lot last night around 8:00 pm in burlington ma, I was loaded in my new printer which I had bought at staples, when suddenly without warning the trunk lid let go and came down on me and conked me on the head hard. Temporarily after the direct head hit, I felt dizzy for a minute, and I could taste blood temporarily for several hours afterward. I feel ok now. This also is not the first time this has happened on my 2013 Ford Taurus. …”

NHTSA complaint #11055015, filed 2017-12, 134,179 miles

“The headliner has detached from the vehicle despite only 5 years old. It blocks the rear window. Also, the upper center brake light is on the headliner and is now no operating properly because of its orientation. This is a major safety hazard. Ford has issued a TSB on this. Several attempts to get Ford to repair under warranty or for safety reasons were unsuccesful. It is very disappointing. Research confirms that this was a poor design with limited life on plastic mounting brackets. Repair estimated to almost $1000!”

NHTSA complaint #11011104, filed 2017-07, 70,000 miles

“My wife was standing outside the car holding the passenger door open and as doors will do, it closed slowly on it's own weight and due to the door spring closing mechanism. She accidentally had her thumb in the door where it would catch, so when the door closed slowly, it caught her thumb. What she did not expect is that the door is so sharp along the metal piece near the window that it completely amputated her thumb and it was left hanging in the door. Keep in mind that she was not even closing the door, since she intended to get back into the car, so the rate of closure was extremely slow. …”

NHTSA complaint #10543542, filed 2013-09, 13,700 miles

“Please allow submission of additional information regarding issues with my 2013 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor.
