“While driving both on a highway ( 55 MPH) and a town road (25 MPH) the car engine and the whole car shut down and stalled out. I was able to restart the car briefly, both times, to get home. I had to use the emergency break to maneuver off the road to avoid hitting other cars. Now, after parking, the car will crank but will not start.”

NHTSA complaint #11276978, filed 2019-10, 109,000 miles

“While driving the vehicle at highway speeds, it was noted that when I set the cruise control at 70 MPH, the stated speed limit, the digital numerical readout read exactly 70 MPH. The speedometer although reads consistently 3-4 MPH above the cruise control setting. This has occurred since I took delivery of the vehicle as brand new from the dealer and occurs regardless of speed setting, I.e.: same issue if cruise is set at 45 MPH, 55 MPH, 65 MPH, etc. …”

NHTSA complaint #10542079, filed 2013-09, 2,212 miles

“Our 2013, 6 cyl Ford Taurus limited awd has been driven 67,004 fairly trouble-free miles needing only ordinary maintenance. The only notable repair was the replacement of a failed fuel pump control module about seven months ago. On the evening of january 20th, 2019, my wife and I were returning home after completing a 40-minute drive. We briefly stopped, waiting for our garage door to open completely and proceeded normally up our driveway, which is on about a 10-degree incline. As we approached the level floor of our garage, the motor rapidly revved up, lunging the vehicle forward. …”

NHTSA complaint #10850495, filed 2016-03, 44,000 miles

“Upon accelerating after green light car surged and started to shake with no power control, had to maneuver across 2 lanes of traffic to side of the road with no power almost getting hit, after removing ignition key and waiting several moments car started and was fine. The problem intermittently persist always during acceleration after a stop. Very dangerous being stuck in the intersections!!”
