The issues happens 5 times over two months.”

NHTSA complaint #11010868, filed 2017-07, 83,156 miles

“The 2013 Taurus has right at 60,000 miles on it and is maintained regularly at the local dealership. I've never been notified of this recall for the steering epas system failing, but it happened last week. Without notice or warning, as we backed out of the garage, the vehicle lost power steering capability and turning it off and restarting did not fix the issue. As I pulled back in the stability control warning light came on indicating failure of that system as well.”

NHTSA complaint #11361558, filed 2020-09, 60,000 miles

“The steering wheel started getting loose starting about 3 months ago. Then the air bag light started coming on and not going off. I saw the recall on other Ford models for the steering wheel and thought this might be the same scenario. I tried to contact Ford twice and both times was interrupted by the automated request to take a survey. I don't know if the steering wheel has ever been removed, but I do know that the drivers airbag was replaced at some time.”
