NHTSA complaint #10277215, filed 2009-07, 60,000 miles

“I am appauled at the amount of problems with the Ford Taurus that I purchased. I am currently without a car while I wait for the fuse in the radiator to be replaced ( which lead to the fan motor in the radiator and the radiator itself to be replaced as well). The first recall, which was the head gasket, took a total of three monthes to be repaired, three monthes I spent hitching rides. …”

“The contact owns a 1995 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that the hazard lights are wired incorrectly. He was on the side of the road when he discovered that both the hazard and turn signal lights were not working. The current and failure mileages were 106,000. Updated 4/2/08 the consumer stated in the icestorm wiper's iced up. Updated 04/02/08”

NHTSA complaint #10220437, filed 2008-03, 106,000 miles

“Problem with steering was a real issue, after 3 pumps, dlr replaced rack & pump, fixed problem. Wiper issue is infrequent, but scary; when in intermittant mode, the wipers sometimes stop wiping until I rotate the 'wiping speed knob' a few times to off & max. Also sometimes they will not go down after I shut the wipers off, they will stay in the 'wipers on, but not wiping' position about 3 inches above the normal spot until the car dries out. Then, as I am travelling down the road, they will go down fully.”

NHTSA complaint #705503, filed 1999-04

“Was driving vehicle when odor of anti-freeze came through air vents inside of vehicle. Took to mechanic who indicated possible heater core or head gaskets causing problem which is or could be reparable. Meanwhile owner has to continually add anti-freeze to vehicle to prevent it from heating up.”
