“I have a 2000 Ford Taurus wagon that my spring snapped and sitting on top of my tire. Read that there was a recall, however it is saying it would have had to happen before 2005. I feel it should still be covered by Ford and I am a single mother of 3 and my income is limited. Paying between $600 and $1500 to have repaired is not available to me.”

NHTSA complaint #10386573, filed 2011-03, 127,000 miles

“I just bought a used 2000 Ford Taurus....I was wondering why my tires were screeching every time I drove, my tires bald badly within a week or two...took it to a mechanic he told me that the right lower control line was bent and that's why I really cant drive anywhere. I am very concerned about my car I need a vehicle to work and see my daughter...”

NHTSA complaint #10326621, filed 2010-04, 65 miles

“I have a 2000 Ford Taurus that has the recalled coil springs on it. The front springs where replaced for free of course and now the back ones are shot and my tire blew as a result. I do not understand why Ford doesn't stand behind their automobiles the coil springs are the exact same as the front ones, defects!!! Please make Ford replace them all at no charge!!! I will never buy a Ford again.”

NHTSA complaint #10368506, filed 2010-12, 117,231 miles

“Front end unacceptable! Then defroster didn't work in winter and I had to use my shirt sleeve to keep rubbing the windshield. I told AC collins Ford dealership that something was wrong with the coil springs and brakes when I bought it. I also told them that the AC was leaking in car. I told them that the steering wheel would shake when I was braking. I can send over the emails if you like. Ac collins sold me this car with serious suspension problems. You may have all records of proof. …”

NHTSA complaint #10777805, filed 2015-09, 140,023 miles

“Own a 2000 Taurus ses with 68,000 miles. While the car was parked in garage, my wife and I just got home with our pick up, we got out of the truck and we heard a loud shot like noise. I looked around under the Taurus and found that the right rear coil spring fractured. Having a family we were thankful that we were not driving it at the time.”
