“I was heading home early in the morning on 12/13/2025 to drop a few passengers on Springfield avenue heading east in Champaign IL (the Main Street) and the other vehicle came from 5th st heading north (5th street is a side street with a stop sign at that intersection). As I approached the intersection I saw the car come forward and then come to a complete stop before the intersection I assumed to look both ways. …”
NHTSA complaint #11706271, filed 2025-12“Airbags failed to deploy after pre-collision system did not activate nor did the emergency breaking activate. I struck a larger SUV while traveling ~35 mph broadside and there was no assistance from the vehicle safety features. It is unknown to me if any of the components have been adequately assessed since. I am concerned that the vehicle may be resold without proper inspection and has to potential to injure other parties in the future.”
NHTSA complaint #11666244, filed 2025-06“I started leasing this car brand new in April. The most problematic issue I have encountered is the false emergency breaking when backing up, which has almost gotten me into an accident multiple times. It happens randomly when the car is in reverse and it's never triggered by anything that's actually in the way while backing up. It's like a glitch. And when it break-checks me, it's an intense jolt that scares me every single time, it feels like I ran into a wall. …”
NHTSA complaint #11701957, filed 2025-11“When slowly backing up my GV70 from a parking spot, on two occasions the brakes have slammed on. In both instances there were no cars in close proximity behind my vehicle and no hazard or obstacle was present.”
NHTSA complaint #11740213, filed 2026-05“On Feb. 2, While driving slowly in a school zone, with no cars in front of me, my car proceeded to abruptly brake over and over 5 times. The warning came on the dash front end collision . I also had NO CONTROL over the car! I was extremely fortunate not to be rear ended during this event. At that time I immediately called my Genesis dealer who asked if it was snowing and often this can occur! What???? No it was NOT snowing and HOW could I drive a car knowing that this dangerous event can happen????? …”
