“I leased a 2026 Electric GV70 from Genesis in June 2025. In January of 2026, when driving the car I got a warning sign to stop the vehicle and check the battery supply. At that point, the car went into sever power reduction and would only go 20 MPH or so. After 20-30 minutes, the car completely shut down and became inoperable. Luckily, I was near home and was able to get my car home. I had to have the vehicle towed on wheels as it was completely frozen to the dealership. They diagnosed it as a failure of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). …”
NHTSA complaint #11731269, filed 2026-04“Without any warning, on March 15, 2026, I turned out of a parking lot onto a major road and I noticed it wouldn't accelerate above 20 mph, so I pulled off the road. I tried again and my vehicle still failed to accelerate. And on my third attempt, my vehicle decelerated and was about to completely stall. I managed to turn into a parking lot and avoid getting rear ended. However, this could have been a fatal event. While I was trying to accelerate, the vehicle was quiet as if the car wasn't even running. After shutting the engine off for awhile, I was able to drive the vehicle with caution. …”
NHTSA complaint #11726876, filed 2026-03“While driving on the highway, the car shut down with no warning messages and gas fumes filled the interior of the car. I was not able to move over to a completely safe spot on the road because the car shut down so quickly. I was not able to put the windows down as there was no power to the car and unable to exit the car because I was not in a safe spot on the highway. I had to remain in the closed car inhaling the gas fumes. I called 911 and they had me sit in the sheriffs car until a tow truck came to keep me out of the fumes. The car was towed to the dealership, it had 53 miles on it. …”
