Example complaints

Electrical system: “When stopped at a stoplight with my foot on the brake and the transmission in drive (D), after 15-30 seconds, the transmission shifts into park and the engine starts. (the autostart was in the default position). This has occurred repeatedly. The the autostart button is pressed and the light is on, the transmission reacts normally. NHTSA complaint #11728732, filed 2026-04

Engine: “I leased a 2026 Electric GV70 from Genesis in June 2025. In January of 2026, when driving the car I got a warning sign to stop the vehicle and check the battery supply. At that point, the car went into sever power reduction and would only go 20 MPH or so. After 20-30 minutes, the car completely shut down and became inoperable. Luckily, I was near home and was able to get my car home. I had to have the vehicle towed on wheels as it was completely frozen to the dealership. They diagnosed it as a failure of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). …”

NHTSA complaint #11731269, filed 2026-04

Fuel system: “Without any warning, on March 15, 2026, I turned out of a parking lot onto a major road and I noticed it wouldn't accelerate above 20 mph, so I pulled off the road. I tried again and my vehicle still failed to accelerate. And on my third attempt, my vehicle decelerated and was about to completely stall. I managed to turn into a parking lot and avoid getting rear ended. However, this could have been a fatal event. While I was trying to accelerate, the vehicle was quiet as if the car wasn't even running. After shutting the engine off for awhile, I was able to drive the vehicle with caution. …”

NHTSA complaint #11726876, filed 2026-03

Brakes: “Day after purchasing gv70, upon starting vehicle, the brake pedal went all the way down to the floor. After taking foot off brake and reapplying foot pressure, the pedal responded accurately and I started the car. This occurred a second time and upon the 3rd time, I contacted the dealership. The third incident occurred with 4300 miles on it. First incident under 500 and second under 750”
