“There is a airbag notification that comes on also im having engine issues where my fuel runs out extremely fast without notice. My friend also has the same vehicle and she is having the same issues with her car. I really need this fixed asap.”

“This is the second time I have had the same issue. I am driving the vehicle and the transmission does not shift out of 2nd gear. The check engine light comes on. I have the vehicle repaired once for this issue. I was told it was the valve body the first time and it was replaced out of warranty.”

NHTSA complaint #10712508, filed 2015-04, 152,000 miles

“I had to have my car brought in for a check engine light. After the dealer did a full test, they narrowed it down to the gas tank area. It was a fuel module broken at the flange and also they recommended the fuel sensor to be replaced because they have been noticing a lot of vehicle coming in with the sensor going bad. The dealer also informed me that the 2008 Acadia's have a design flaw in the gas tank and there is a chance in the future it may need to be replaced, but for now the tank looks really good.”

NHTSA complaint #11103353, filed 2018-06, 101,172 miles

“Bought vehicle with only 23k miles on it, transmission started acting up within 6 months of driving it, taken to a dealer, said nothing wrong, another year later got worse, took it in to a different dealer, nothing wrong, 6 months later took it in before going on vacation, nothing wrong, but had problems while on vacation, 6 months later, 1,500 miles away from home on vacation, driving down a 75 mile an hour speed limit divided highway, transmission went out with no warning, no dash warning, took in to a transmission dealer (since we couldn't get into a dealer) and said we wouldn't make it…”

NHTSA complaint #11064489, filed 2018-01, 83,000 miles

“My 2008 Gmc Acadia gave me the scare of my life. I purchased my vehicle just last month and was very proud, I have been dreaming of this car for a while. However while traveling to my sons track meet my Acadia started jerking as if it was not getting any gas and the engine started making a loud humming or buzzing noises on farm market 521. The car slowed down to about 25 miles. Despite my continuing to press the gas pedal. I ended up jerking my way onward with my hazards on. I had cars screeching and flying around me. My kids and I are a nervous wreck. …”
