“While driving coming to our destination stop, at bout 1000ft left, my 2014 Acadia just started shaking, and misfiring and losing power. On the steering column, the notification states, traction system light came on, and check engine light. We then came to a complete stop and put in park, then started driving again and went off after 2-3 minutes. Then powered off and check engine light remains, and others off.”
NHTSA complaint #11364793, filed 2020-10, 84,000 miles“My SUV that I like very much recently started having issues while turning. After researching online it seems that this is an ongoing issue with Gmc Acadia models. This could easily cause a wreck and is a safety issue when driving. Since there are alot of reports for this issue I thought that there would be a recall , unfortunately when I searched my VIN no recall was found. There are alot off issues with this model and problem therefore it should be covered by Gmc.”
NHTSA complaint #11311186, filed 2020-02, 90,000 miles“On 08/17/14 at approximately 15:30, I was backing up in my driveway from a major roadway and my vehicle suddenly lost all power, steering and brakes. I looked at the driver information center and it said something like power loss and battery . I was in too big of a hurry to put it in park and restart the vehicle and get out of the road to concentrate on what it was saying. …”
NHTSA complaint #10625988, filed 2014-08, 1,200 miles“On march 15, 2017 our 2014 Gmc Acadia spontaneously lost steering power assist as I was making a turn at around 10 miles per hour. The vehicle regained power assist 15 to 20 seconds later. For the next several miles, it appeared to lose the power assist only when at low idle and otherwise drove fine. I did some research on-line and this problem appears to be somewhat common for this make and year but I cannot find any recalls for it.”
NHTSA complaint #10966213, filed 2017-03, 34,000 miles“During evening rush hour, the car stalled out completely while going approximately 75 MPH on a mild incline on the highway. Gas gauge said approximately a quarter tank of gas. All power steering was lost, but I was able to drive the car to the shoulder of the freeway. A service truck put approximately 5 gallons of gas into the tank, but the car would not start and I had to be towed to dealership. …”
