“When stoped on a hill the transmission goes into neutral & the car rolls backward down hill when you take your foot off the brake to take off again. Took it to a Gmc dealer &a they told us they drove a 2013 Acadia & a 2015 buick with the same drive train as ours & both cars rolled back like ours so they determined it was normal ! I was a ford tech for 32 years and never ran into a problem like this, I do not feel it's normal. What will happen if we roll back into another car or hit someone who walks behind the car?? …”
NHTSA complaint #11043925, filed 2017-11, 59,000 miles“Was going to back out of my garage when I put the shifter into reverse. When the shifter was in reverse, it shifted out of gear on its own into drive and it went forward slamming front end of the vehicle into a refrigerator. Causing the refrigerator to be completely destroyed and the front end of the hood to become crooked. This is very dangerous and concerning as had their been someone in front of the vehicle it would have more than likely seriously hurt them or killed them. …”
NHTSA complaint #10597775, filed 2014-06, 8,000 miles“Car was banging into second gear periodically since the day we got it as a cpo about two years ago. The dealer said it was normal. Fast forward to last week when all of a sudden the car was bucking and slamming into gears and stalling out at lights. We brought it to the dealer and they said that the car needed a transmission and it was out of warranty. Gm corporate did nothing to help with the cost and now I'm on the hook for a $6,000 bill. Plus I have to find a rental car to wait for the back ordered transmission to arrive because of the strike. Never again GM”
NHTSA complaint #11270812, filed 2019-10, 90,000 miles“As I am accelerating up any sort of incline, the vehicle strongly jerks until I apply more gas. The problem is occurring more frequently as I put more miles on the vehicle.”
NHTSA complaint #10938911, filed 2016-12, 36,000 miles“Twice in the past week I have had the same problem with the stability track sensor turning off while driving. When this happened the engine power decreased. When trying to get the vehicle off the road, it was like I had lost power steering because it was a fight to turn the wheel. Prior to this we have also noticed that when the vehicle shifts gears, quite often it is a very hard shift to the point it shakes the whole car and feels like it is stalling. Not sure if that is a transmission issue or something to do with the fuel injection.”
