“Issue is with the transmission as it harshly shifts into a low gear when on an incline. This causes me to lock up my breaks as it feels like the truck was rear ended by another vehicle. I’m concerned that this is going to cause an accident. This problem has not been reproduced by the dealer. I’ve taken it to the dealership several times. No warning lamps or messages.”
NHTSA complaint #11744152, filed 2026-06“I was driving on the highway when the vehicle started to make clinking noises. The vehicle started to lose power as I accelerated it would feel like something was pulling me in the opposite direction and the knocking noise would get louder. Ultimately, I had the vehicle towed to a dealership. This vehicle passed the L87 recall not too long ago, and the vehicle is barely used.”
NHTSA complaint #11752276, filed 2026-07“While traveling 60 mph on a divided highway went to pass another vehicle. Had no throttle response the engine had completely turned off, locked up seized up. I’m not sure what caused the engine to just lose all power. Had to go back to the lane and luckily there was a turnoff where I was able to turn off the highway.”
NHTSA complaint #11713307, filed 2026-01“As I pulled away from a stop sign, my vehicle started surging and went into limp mode, I pulled over to the side of the road to get out of the way of traffic and could not drive in reverse as I tried to park safely on the shoulder of the road. I had to have truck towed and deealership stated there was an issue with the transmission control valve and it would need to be rebuilt. Performed GM TSB 25-NA-014.”
NHTSA complaint #11651464, filed 2025-03“On December 13th 2024, I was unable to drive my truck in reverse. I put the truck in neutral and pushed it out of its parking spot. I was able to drive the truck to the GMC dealership for diagnosis. On December 19th, I received a call from the dealership and I was told the transmission valve body was bad. I called on January 2nd 2025 for an update on the repair and was told the valve body was on backorder and they had no ETA on the Part.”
