“I was driving on the highway when the vehicle started to make clinking noises. The vehicle started to lose power as I accelerated it would feel like something was pulling me in the opposite direction and the knocking noise would get louder. Ultimately, I had the vehicle towed to a dealership. This vehicle passed the L87 recall not too long ago, and the vehicle is barely used.”
NHTSA complaint #11752276, filed 2026-07“My wife and I were traveling on a county road and without warning, the vehicle skipped twice and cut off in the middle of the roadway in a sharp curve with rain threatening at approximately 7:30 p.m. ET August 11, 2025. I attempted to restart numerous times because we were in the middle of the right lane. The starter would spin but vehicle would not restart. The truck then would not shut off and draining the battery. I called for a wrecker and the Sheriff's Office to keep somebody from hitting us. …”
NHTSA complaint #11680222, filed 2025-08“I have received the notice about the recall and now I am just worried because I have a wife and two-year-old child in my truck. I don't want the engine issue to happen while they are in the truck and increases the risk to get into an accident if the engine fails. I have tried to schedule an appointment with my dealership and from the date I received notice on 04/28/2025. They stated I have to call back in two weeks which should be unacceptable because how about if the engine fails within the two weeks and causes even more issues for me and my family. …”
NHTSA complaint #11658101, filed 2025-05“On August 3, 2025 I was on the road enroute to my residence. With no warning my 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT engine quit. We heard a popping sound and the entire vehicle shuddered. I took safe control of the vehicle. As I intervened I noticed that the dash warning lights were lit. Almost immediately the warning lights went off and the engine restarted on its own. We were startled and extremely concerned about what had just happened. This was the first problem we encountered with the truck. I contacted the DeLuz Chevy garage in Hilo for a follow-up appointment.”
NHTSA complaint #11700648, filed 2025-11“I passed the recall inspection on 12/17/2025 and the higher viscosity oil was put into my vehicle. On 12/25/2025 my vehicle's engine shut off while I was traveling on the highway (I-25). The vehicle went into to neutral and I had to pull over to the side of the highway without power. The vehicle started again and as I was merging onto the highway it shut down again. The truck started again and I was able to drive it home. There were no codes found when I took it in for service on 12/26/2025. On 01/24/2026 I was driving on the highway (US-40) and I had complete engine failure. …”
