“For approximately 2 years now (since 2005),my 2000 Gmc fuel gauge fluctuates regardless how much fuel is in the tank. I can be at highway speed and gauge will go to empty and remain there until I place the shifter into neutral and gauge needle will move to fuel level. I've have gone to Gmc and chevrolet service depts. And both said they are aware of this problem and that I would need to purchase and adapter kit for around $150. …”
NHTSA complaint #10174703, filed 2006-11, 70,000 miles“Was driving on a local road. Brake pedal went to floor. Was able to stop and drive it home. The line above the gas tank was corroded and had to be replaced. Same thing happened in dec.2011. This time the line was corroded against the frame leading to the ABS module. This repair hasn't been completed because of expense. I plan to replace the remainder of the lines because they are rusting inside the engine compartment leading to the master cylinder.”
