“My booster is leaking into the floor. I took it to the dealer and they said it was the booster and it needs to be replaced. This could make the truck lose its brakes and run into something or someone.”
NHTSA complaint #11674427, filed 2025-07“Trailer brake controller that is built into the truck intermittently works when towing a trailer. I will be towing down the road and all of a sudden I will get a warning on my gauge display that says “check trailer wiring” and the light that indicates that the trailer brakes are working goes out. Meanwhile, all of the lights on the trailer still work. After about one second, another message appears and says “trailer brakes connected” and the light on the brake controller comes back on. …”
NHTSA complaint #11574990, filed 2024-03“Hello, I purchased a 2022 GMC Sierra AT4 2500 in August of 2022. I then purchased a 2022 Alliance Avenue 30RLS in September of 2022. The first time we took the Alliance Avenue out on a camping trip (October 2022), we had brake controller issues. The brake controller would suddenly disconnect and I would have an error on the screen saying that the controller was no longer connected, and the light would go off on the brake controller on the dashboard. At this point, we had no trailer brakes. …”

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact heard a clanking sound coming from the steering wheel while attempting to make a turn. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the steering wheel was loose. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering column had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated. …”
