“I used to own a firebird, but I had to trade it in for a bigger car cause my 2 year old was getting to big for the back seat. I found this car place and went in and met with the owner, told him I didn't want a piece of crap car because I have a daughter to look out for, since I have had the car it has been nothing but money and problems. The car I traded in for had no problems. He had told me that the car was in great shape, it had new tires, and brakes, and it runs great. …”

NHTSA complaint #10071129, filed 2004-01, 98,000 miles

“This is the second of a set of four tires bought at costco jan99. Last incidence occured 13 months ago with very similar damage. I was on street behind midday traffic when I felt the tire gave in - I did not run over or hit anything, nor did I run under pressure as michelin customer relation tried to tell me. I have meticulous records of my car and (though I do not wash it regularily) I continuously inspect it. The sidewall shredded as if a bear hit them and they separtated internally from the radials (meaning they pealed inside away from each other). …”

NHTSA complaint #10041801, filed 2003-10, 125,000 miles

“I purchased sears voyager lx road handler p195/60 r15 radial tires for my Honda Accord as replacements for the originals and the sidewalls have blown out on 2 of the tires after 55,000 miles. This occurred while driving at highway speeds both incidents occurred within 2 weeks of each other, both tires blew the sidewalls out on the inside side wall and both tires were on the front of the vehicle. Do I have any recourse and were there any recalls on these tires?? These tires are advertised as 100,000 mile tires.”

NHTSA complaint #10020994, filed 2003-06

“The contact stated two out of a set of four tires have failed due to tread separation. The contact reports having no steering problems or warnings prior to tire failure. The manufacturer of the tires is cooper. The model is weather master xgr. The tire size is p19565r14.”

NHTSA complaint #10155532, filed 2006-04, 101,000 miles

“While driving on the interstate, vehicle began to experience a vibration that caused the entire vehicle to shudder, consumer pulled over and discovered a bulge in the tread on the drivers side rear tire, one month later consumer experienced the same problem with the passenger side rear tire, both tires failed due to the steel belts giving out.(firestone f570 18570r14) jg”
