“I have a 1998 Honda Accord when I call Honda to let them know my car is stalling while driving they tell me this is not a covered recall on my certain car for my VIN also the lower ball joints are not covered but they have a recall for the parts on line for other 1998 cars but it is crazy neither of these items are covered on my car.”

“I have a 98 Honda Accord lx that dies at random times while driving. It takes a few minutes to get my vehicle to restart. I've called Honda and they told me it was the electrical portion of the ignition switch that wasn't covered by the recall and is expensive for labor and the part. I've done some research online and this seems to be a lot of Honda owners who has this problem and the dealership won't replace the part.”

NHTSA complaint #10586662, filed 2014-05, 260,000 miles

“My car's engine was shut off while I was driving 65 m/h in the freeway and regular road. Also I couldn't re start my car right a way. It is happening more when is hot days than cold days. When I turn to ignition side nothing happened and it's so hard to see regular lights including airbag and engine light etc. I almost got get into accident couple time during at night cause I was trying to get my engine turn on middle of street. If this were one or two time incident I wouldn't report but as summer is getting closer it is getting worst. …”

NHTSA complaint #10871409, filed 2016-05, 128,000 miles

“On august 23, 2014, I went to get my oil changed at the Honda dealer and they said the sub-frame on the passenger's side had completely broken and the car is now a safety issue. I find this to be horrible. I've had this car for about 3 years now (a gift from my grandmother) and all oil changes and services have been done at the dealership on time and they are just now telling me about this!!! I have searched and found that I am not the only person with this problem. It seems Honda has known about this rusting problem for years and has done nothing about it. …”

NHTSA complaint #10627782, filed 2014-08, 80,000 miles

“A clunking noise was noticed while driving. The vehicle was taken in for service and it was advised that the passenger's side sub frame was rusted. The private mechanic stated that the entire sub frame needed to be replaced and that the vehicle was not safe to be driven. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure.”
